Revelation 8:1 When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
Silence.... there were no sounds from under the alter.... there were no orders from the four beast.... there were no praises from the elders.... the angels were silent.... The multitude was completely silent for half an hour.
I can remember times in church when everyone was supposed to be silent for just a couple of minutes.... of course someone had to cough.... or a child would say.... "mommy".... and of course mom would say "ssshhhh"
Some of the commentaries say that Heaven is stunned when the seventh seal was opened....
A half hour of silence is a really really really really long time..... try it.... play the silent game with someone and see if you can manage it.... As the oldest of five kids.... I can tell you.... it's nearly impossible.
Also a half in hour in Heaven is different than a half hour on earth.
Yesterday Gary and I were on the road. We left Knoxville TN on the way to Conway Arkansas. We got hit with the Daylight Saving time change as well as a time zone change.... All day long I had no clue what time it was... It gave me a lot of "time" to think about Revelation. Add to that the fact that we are now in the Bible Belt... yesterday was quite an event! Every radio station had a different preacher from a local church all morning long.... We're in two vehicles and Gary kept telling me where he was getting the strongest channel.... He listened to some preaching too.... So as I said I had a lot of time to think about Revelation...
It came to me.... the first 6 seals were active seals... things were happening.... then there was a pause.....
