Revelation: Before we go any further

I think I need a refresher on the Seven Churches and where John saw them. These Seven Churches, after all, are supposed to be filled with the Believers that Christ is coming back for.

I got this from Got Questions. The notes in blue are mine.

(1) Ephesus (Revelation 2:1-7) - the church that had forsaken its first love (2:4).... like the people who quit going to church as soon as they were old enough to revolt

(2) Smyrna (Revelation 2:8-11) - the church that would suffer persecution (2:10).... like the churches that have been shot up and the churches that are caring enough to actually preach the Gospel

(3) Pergamum (Revelation 2:12-17) - the church that needed to repent (2:16).... like the church that allows only non-smokers to join or the churches that teach "it's ok"

(4) Thyatira (Revelation 2:18-29) - the church that had a false prophetess (2:20)... this is like that church that doesn't want to preach Christ Crucified any more because it's a drag and it brings down enrollment and income

(5) Sardis (Revelation 3:1-6) - the church that had fallen asleep (3:2)..... most of the churches today....

(6) Philadelphia (Revelation 3:7-13) - the church that had endured patiently (3:10)... this is like that good Christian who does all they can do to show that Christlike spirit

(7) Laodicea (Revelation 3:14-22) - the church with the lukewarm faith (3:16).... This is most of us.... spitable

I wonder.... did Disney use the seven churches when he was developing the seven dwarfs? He might as well have.... the church is going to be as useful as the seven dwarfs when Jesus is finally given the go ahead to return. I dare say... a lot of the people won't believe it's Him... and the majority won't have a clue what is about to take place.....

Since only one in seven churches was worth a nod.... do you think one in seven people who claim to be a Christian will be happy to see Jesus return?

So... now we know that the book is penned by John, as instructed by Jesus, about the future. Here we go.
