Review Rustic River

So I try out the new Rustic River the other day...

Price: Over priced food

Quality: Ribs were good. Chicken wings average.

Service: My biggest peeve is poor service. Waitress was friendly but could not make a recommendation off the menu other than potato salad. Then she did not know what the "symbols" meant next to certain food items.

Cleanliness: This place looked exactly the same as Arizona Pizza...Exactly. They did nothing inside to change it.
The menus were paper and so showed all their food stains from prior guests. I could not help thinking that the little TV at our table had never been cleaned do the the very grimy look of it.

I would give it a 1 star out of 5. Only go there when everything else is closed.

You should judge for yourself. When I went, we had a very knowledgeable, friendly, attentive waiter and the food was delish.
:yeahthat: Every other review on here gave it high marks. Foodcritic has always been the opposite of the general consenses. :lmao:

In this case, I have to agree with the OP. We just got back from RR and were extremely disappointed. Our server made 4 trips to our table before finally bringing our drinks and taking our order. She was NOT at all knowledgeable on the menu items or the drinks.
As for the food, I got an appetizer of wings...which were okay, but nothing special. I did like the size of the wings, but the flavor was just so, so. I also had a rack of ribs with mashed potatoes and green beans...all unremarkable. The ribs were just like you can get at Damon's.
We went in support of restaurant week because they advertised "homemade" blueberry pie. Homemade???, NOT! I suspect that it is whatever they picked up at McKay's.
The tables were grimy and sticky and are in need of serious cleaning.
The couple that came in shortly after us had to stop one server and ask that their server be sent over to take their drink order. Even then, it was several more minutes before she came.
I have a hard time understanding how places like this stay open and know that we won't be supporting them in the future.

I forgot about this thread. I have to agree with FC. :faint: The food was marginal.

My friend got the Chicken Etouffe and didn't finish half. I got the Caramelized Salmon and it was good. The cheese and bacon grits sound good but weren't great.

I ordered a wheat beer by Star something and she brought me a Star ale. Sent it back and she returned with the right beer. It was very good! She was young so I don't hold it against her.

Probably won't be stopping in to eat again unless it's for wings and the Star wheat.

Yes........it's good.

:yay:

Yep, went there last week. I ordered the steak sammich...based on some comments that I had read about it. I was expecting something like a philly steak sammich and boy was I WRONG!!! What came out was a big, honkin slab of steak on a bun. I laughed...mostly at myself for incorrectly assuming on thing over the other. The flavor of the steak was okay, but it was too big and hard to manage on the bun so I just took it off and ate it as a steak. Others in my party all had burgers that they said were properly cooked and tasted good.
Service was fine and the place was clean, but somewhat strange in that it is a HUGE area and seems almost too spread out...empty. Not sure how to describe it, but I just found it odd.

I forgot that hubsters burger was overcooked, but they removed it from the bill since we didn't have time for a do-over. I also noticed the emptiness...it's almost cavernous.
