I've long held mixed feelings on Assange, and people like him.

The main problem is that the Government is providing information, and that's all we know.

Sunshine is always the best disinfectant. Unlike Ed Snowden, Julian Assange never took an oath to protect US secrets.

In the case of Snowden .. I think we are better off for knowing what our government does in our name, but as far as I know, he took his job and associated clearance freely and voluntarily. I don’t imagine it’s a good idea to cheapen the value of a clearance to our government. While I cheer for him, I’ll likely not remember his name, nor will I shed a tear if/when he’s ever returned to the US to face whatever justice he may face.
