Richard Dreyfuss Calls for Impeachment

Well it's not as though the "Impeach Bush" mantra hasn't been heard before - people have been saying this since the 2000 election.

But at least with Clinton, we had a bona fide "crimes" in an actual court case - perjury, obstruction of justice and conspiracy to suborn perjury. People can and will still argue whether or not they were charges warranting removal from office. (I will never get over the fact that Sen. Byrd said on national television that they WERE grounds for removal from office - but he still wasn't going to vote that way).

With Bush, it's different. He's not being charged with a crime. They just don't like his politics.

Sour grapes, much?

I am thankful every single day that Clinton wasn't removed from office. The thought of "President Gore" makes my blood run cold.

What's strange is, had the Democrats had the forethought to simply own up to it, they almost certainly would have won hands down in 2000. No squeaker. It would have been a slam-dunk for a sitting President running against Bush. He even would have been eligible to run in 2004.

I just don't know what was going through Al's mind to declare Bill the most moral president the nation had known - right after the impeachment vote - in lieu of the fact that the two of them apparently *NEVER* got along well or saw eye to eye on most issues. I'd have been thinking - ten years in office - hell yeah.

And the winner for this year's "Career Revitalization By Attacking Bush" award goes to... the envelope please... Richard Dreyfuss! Congratulations Richard! You're now going to have your face all over TV for the next two months, including trips to Hardball, The Daily Show, Oprah, and anytime you want on CNN including muliple Larry King appearances. And after that two months, when the public once again begins to ignore you, you'll be on "Dancing With The Stars" with Sean Penn. Sorry we can't get you a guest spot on The West Wing.

...Sammy my man.

Thing is the Dems sold their soul for Bill 'n Hill and got NOTHING to show for it. It's the root, IMHO, of the rage issues they have to this day.

I do believe you've made a damn good point there.

They bent over backwards excusing, rationalizing, and pooh-poohing every faux pas that the Clintons made, they most assuredly thought they would come out of it more prosperous in the political sense.

Guess what? They didn't.
