A bunch of us went to Dennis Point tonight for dinner and fireworks - okay, fine, everyone in freaking St. Mary's County went there tonight.

The food was outstanding, as you'd expect from a Rickaurant. I had fried shrimp that were some of the best I've ever had. Everyone else, from fried fish to steaks, said theirs was good, too.

The service, however, was slooooooooow. Like reeeeeaaaaallllly slooooooooow. To the point that I was getting ready to say cuss words to our server. From the time we sat down to the time we got our checks - 3 freaking hours. Yes, you read that correctly. Some of it was that they were REALLY!!! busy but mostly it was the server himself who needs a boot in the ass. We asked three times for ketchup, finally borrowing it from another table, then someone brought us a bottle when the meals were all finished. I suspect this was our guy's first time on the floor and he was in the weeds big time.

Regardless, I'll go back because I love it there. And I'd even give the server another chance to jack his game up.

We stopped at Bonefish on the way back from DC last evening. What a waste of $$$. Overpriced food and so - so service. I think I would have rather waited 3 hours for ketchup at Rick's.

Very good food - ditto on the service. I would love to try it out again on a non-holiday weekend. Out on the deck! :yay:

3 hours? I would have been gone 2 hours before that. Unless someone else was driving.

That was our plan last night as well but I was worried it was going to be a hot spot.... so at the last minute we decided to have a dinner party at our house instead... glad we did now.
