Does anyone know or have any info on, if they even have them in SoMD, Ride-Along or Scared Straight Programs for teenagers? I am originally from Ma. and I know we had them there when I was in school. Just wondering if they are available here.

Call the cop shop - they'll be able to help you. I know they do ride-alongs but not sure about "scared straight".

Got a wild kid? Send him my way - I'll slap his ass for you. :yay:

Pretty sure you'll need to be 18 for a ride-along with the Police.

The Fire Department's have "Explorer" programs for teens to learn and observe. (At least Hollywood VFD does.) Not sure if the rescue squads have anything similar.

I think the Ride along program with the police can be teens, if the parent signs a form and has it notarized......

and who says girls can't join the fire dept. Check out www.mvfd.com they have some very accomplished female officers (who have not given up being feminine to be fire fighters)
