Rider and Horse die at event

Wow, I thought this was very sad. Rider and horse both die after horse falls during a riding event in Florida. So sad.

These are the stories we try not to think of when doing a sport that we love so much. My heart goes out to their family.....how tragic. Horseback riding is dangerous, but so is driving a car.

The Florida trials are a CCI **, so advanced level.

Check the COTH thread, family posted there w/ a link to her website. She competed at Badminton. What a tragedy!

I was telling my mom about the accident. She said that she just read an article from Troxel that said that riding had the second highest accidental fatalities of any sport. I wonder was the first?

She couldn't remember the first sport, but she thought it was some sport with motorcycles.....
