And yes, sometimes when I ride I carry. Glad I got my PA carry permit back when I was riding up there monthly. And I damn sure will when I go to get the "new" bike.
Will it be Electric
My dresser only manages 150 miles per tank of gas. I'm headed to Carole County on the scoot today, in fact. I'll use most of a tank each way.Nope, electric bikes not there yet, for my riding anyway. Hell to ride t0 get the new one its a 4.5 hour ride mostly highway to Troy PA and then right back on the new one. My current bike has over a 300 mile range, same with the new one. The closest ev bike to what I'm getting, a 2023 R1200RT, is a sport touring bike called the Energica Experia which costs new a bit more than what I'm spending on the 2023 "new" one. The EV has a range of around 120 miles real world.
But I'm not the average rider by any means. I do distances on the regular and ride year round unless there's snow or ice.

3 gallons to reserve and another half a gallon or little less on reserve.Yeah, these have 6 gallons "usable" with one in reserve.

Ride was a bit nippy yesterday but still a good one; no "close calls" or other issues with the somewhat heavy traffic.
I normally avoid riding through the DC suburbs, beltway etc but the old bike needed some air time and I was headed to services for an old friend that was, in some ways, directly responsible for me getting so heavily in to scooters in the first place. Back in the early 1970s...Hope to squeeze in a ride of two today and tomorrow. Depending on how I'm feeling with the high seat, might take it up to Reagan for my trip to Seattle. Low seat wont be here for a week. Also hope the weathers good the first week of December, got an overnight to Picatinny Arsenal.
