Just wanted to give a shout out to the volunteers who helped me so much over the past weekend. I had an emergency and had to call for help. They were quick, decisive, knowledgeable and I really believe that they saved my life. I have been home from the hospital for 2 days now -- because of them!! All my gratitude to our volunteers!!!

Wow, I glad you are ok. I am so impressed that well trained volunteers give up their personal time to help others. It is very, very cool.

Yeah, when I woke up today, I thought " wow, I could be being buried today". Now, that is a thought that will change your perspective on life and how you live and how you treat others.

I am so very blessed
Great news! The Ridge squad helped me out recently, and I, too, appreciate all that they did for me.

Hope you continue to heal.

Boy, we've been keeping Ridge busy. My wife had to call them for me about 3 weeks ago when I had a bad reaction to some pain meds I took for my back. (OK, I took too many.) Anyway, they were great. Very professional. Fortunately I didn't have to go for a ride but it's nice to know they are there when you need them. :yay: :yay:

I am a member of a rescue squad < not Ridge > I can tell you that we rarely hear from folks like you that appreciate our help. If you realy want to let them know how much you appreciated the help, stop by, leave a card, or better yet, a tray of cookies or something like that. Trust me, that kind of thing will make the squads day!

My old neighbor had to use them on a few occasions and when he daughter was in a bad car accident with one of her friends after seh was released from the hospital a few days later they took cards and cookies and the people at the squad were glad to see her as they were worried how she made out (that is what they told her atleast).

Well, I have been fighting an upper respitory thing and bronchitis all summer, and am just newly diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. And I have been on atenelol for about 5-6 years for high blood pressure - and evidently this can cause bronchiial spasms. Everything combined Saturday, i could not breathe. Collapsed 2-3 times trying to get to the phone. When the emts got here, I was laying on the floor behind my couch trying to breathe. Another 15-30 minutes and I was a goner. I was in ICU for 1 night. But am feeling better now, they would not let me leave the hospital until I had my bipap machine. My company was gonna send me flowers, I talked to them and instead they made a $75.00 donation to the rescue squad. As soon as I can drive again,I plan on visiting them and thanking in person.

We very rarely ever hear how our pts made out after we transfer care to the SMH staff. So when your neighbor stopped by, and the squad members voiced thier concern, I am pretty certain that it was genuine.

Glad you are doing better HBC, and that was a nice thing to do, having your company donate the $ for the flowers.

Glad you're OK. My son is a EMT/Fireman Vol. in Mont. Co. and Paid in Fred. Co. I know how much they put into their efforts. And how much they LOVE the follow-ups. It's so nice for them to see a happy ending.
