I'll do you one better. I am the owner (well one of them, my hubby is the other "boss")....And we do care what the community thinks. So any suggestions please make them, Favorite flavors let us know, comment and suggestins are always welcome. We want to know if we should consider opening early and also how many people still don't even know we are there. We want to know what people think and what better way than to just ask?

I don't see the option on the poll for I will never go there because it is located in the pit of LPC.

I don't go to the one in LP because I live close to Prince Frederick. I love Rita's. The watermelon, lemonlime, blueberry, mango are my favs....

Great.......

Now I want an Italian Ice!!!!!!!!

Oh come on it's ok during the day....

I get your point and as they are closed for the season it is a mute point right now. During the work week though I am no where near the location and on the weekends I avoid the park as much as possible. Especially since last year gas prices were so high. I did all my shopping on the way home. Also since there is no designated outside seating I do not feel comfortable sitting in the car in the parking lot off of GMR eating an icey and I live too far to drive home without a meltdown.

I do wish their business well, the location is just not convenient or IMO safe for me and my family.

Funny you should post, I was asking my hubby today, when we passed the one in Prince Frederick, how can Rita's afford to close from October to March? I mean there are still bills to be paid and all that. Probably none of my business, but since you're an owner, who better to ask.

No reason that it should be closed. Dairy Queen is open all year round.

No DQ in these parts that I know of. I also only eat ice cream once every couple of months so it wouldn't really matter if there was one at the end of my road. I do like italian ice's though but again only on occasion.

I love Rita's but I must admit that it is in a bad location. Not because of the area itself but because of the parking. It is awful trying to get up in that little hole. I'm surprised that there hasn't been many accidents. It would be nice if you could make an area where you could put a few tables with umbrellas so that people can sit and enjoy their treat. Just a suggestion.
I like the Ice Tea and cherry flavors.

I used to go to the original Rita's in Bensalem, my dad would take me there on our way to the shore. When Rita's starting popping up everywhere I'd take the kids that worked at the bookstore I managed out for water ice every night in the summer after work. The 2 flavors you could always get were lemon, cherry and chocolate.

Open early, please.

No we do not own the one in PF, just Lexington park. We do have a sitting area. It is the wall we had built around the store front. We built that so people can sit on it. Also, we (the owners) are there everyday from open till close and we do everything we can to ensure our guests saftey. The landlord also has an officer there at our shopping center during the early evening hours and through the night. We have not had any saftey issues at all and strive to make sure that doesn't change in the future. If we see shady characters near our store, we call the police and get rid of them ASAP. 2008 was our 1st season so we were just looking to the community to see if there is anything we can do to make the experience better for them for 2009. We are all about the customer and their experience.

As far as closing, most people who have a Rita's also have another job to support them in the winter months. It is not a get rich quick business. It requires a lot of dedication and hard work. Since it is only our 2nd season coming up, we know there is a lot to learn still, so we wanted to ask what the communicty wants. We are making some changes this year so we will be able to offer a wider variety of flavors so hopefully we will have a flavor you like every time you come. That is just one of the many changes customers will see this coming season.

Comments are always welcome. Our direct email is RitasLexPark@comcast.net.

If I give you the description of my vehicle, you could provide me with free Rita's. That would make me happy.

Missy_State---We wish parking was a little better too. It is a good location, we didn't just pick it out of the sky. We did ALOT of research before going there. We also can't put up any tables and chairs at this time, county regulations at this point prevent us from doing that. Because of possible vandalism to the tables & chairs we decided not to go that route from the start and did the concrete wall for people to sit on. We just can't buy any table and chairs, we must buy Rita's stuff and its very expensive. The Waldorf store is also set up with the concrete sitting wall and we liked that very much, so we went with it for our store.

We hope that everyone will stop by and and least give us a try.

Last summer my co-worker and I had Rita's at least twice a week. The only complaint that I have is that you need more sugar free flavors. I think there was only 4 last year. Plus, you would only have one sugar free flavor per day. I called one time and was told that root beer was the best selling sugar free and that is why it was the one available most of the time.

Also, I don't know if this is possible...sugar free yogurt? My co-worker would always get the bendini things and I was always so jealous because I couldn't have the yogurt because of the sugar.
