Rival Electric Skillet

...with removable/dishwasher safe pan.

What a POS. 2 uses, 2 washings, and the Teflon is bubbled and peeling. It has a thermostat control, but it cannot be right. I set it to MAX (400*) and my pancakes took FOREVER to brown. Very uneven heating, half the pancake was brown, the other half uncooked. I made a slow simmer chicken dish in it, had to push the temp to 300* to get a slow bubbling simmer. My old one would bubble simmer at the "keep warm" setting.

Got it on sale about 2-3 weeks ago at Target. It's going back.

The one good thing about Rival is, if you call them and complain, they do their best to fix the problem. I had one of those for about 4 months and only used it twice. second time it didnt seem to want to heat right. Went to move it off the top of fridge and the damn removable pan came sliding off hit me in the head and the lid broke. I called them and they sent me a brand new one. Gave my old one to a friend who didnt care about the lid and my brand new one is still in the box in the garage just in case I ever want to use it.

I refuse to buy (and ultimately eat) anything with teflon on it. Give me some stainless steel and a box of lard any day.
