Riviera Kennel made a difference in my life.

This past Sunday morning while driving home from vacation in Hilton Head, we got a call from Riviera Kennels that our dog and beloved pet was not doing well. He had blood in his stools and was terribly weak. The owner had taken him home the night before, Saturday, because she was worried about him and didn't want to leave him in the kennel. overnight. On Sunday morning, she called our wonderful vets at Tidewater, and proceeded to take him over early on Sunday morning. (We were in South Carolina on our drive home, and still had 10 hours to go, when this was happening.) She stayed with our dog, Macon, through the whole examination, and even helped the vet to care for him. She left when there was nothing else she could do further. She was our Angel. What a difference she made in our lives.

Because of her, the vets were able to make him comfortable and give him fluids the remainder of the day, which enabled him to live just a short time longer until we got there. ( We did have time to spend one last hour of his life with him.) We will be forever grateful for her love that she shared with him.

(Macon died from kidney failure. He was doing fine in the kennel, and got the best of care until he was steadily declining . She took him home with her. He could not walk, and we had provided a doggie bed for him. The owner kept checking on him, and made sure he would not fall out of the bed and kept his head propped up on the side so he would be comfortable.) A sure act of love, going way beyond the call of duty...

How wonderful and  for Riviera!

Sorry about your doggie, though. :huggy: I'm glad his last hours could be peaceful, and I'm also glad you got back in time to say goodbye.

Always used Riviera for my dogs. I could call when I'm on my way back from hunting every year and the girls there would give them a bath, nails clipped, etc and have them ready for me when I pulled in.
