Great lightning storm!!

Rumbling here in Lusby, a little tinkle of rain. No huge lightning strikes...yet! Sounds like Mother Nature isn't sure about what she's going to do here!

We had a loud boom of thunder a little bit ago that made me jump while sitting here on the couch! Whoa - haven't had that happen in a long time!

Slept through the whole thing. That is what stinks about an 8pm bedtime.

That thunder is nothing compared to the sounds of Chicago or Houston on a hot weeknight. Or the middle east

Went to make coffee just now, no power. The storm kicked out all of the GFI breakers in the breaker panel. Entire kitchen (excluding big fridge) and basement was offline since last night.

I was standing at my kitchen window last night and saw my neighbor's transformer go pop. Pop is what it actually sounded like going off. And of course the bright white flash. SMECO was out about an hour later.

We had one come down about 100 yards behind the house in the trees along the stream between us and the next subdivision.

Just saw the radar. Could be a repeat of last night, but it's not that far away.

There's a cell already in Colonial Beach (VA) coming fast. I suppose I should put some pants on and get the mail while I can.

Looked at the radar track again. LaPlata/Waldorf are getting it now. The storm is tracking to the NE, so the part of the storm that will get to Lex Park won't be here for a few hours yet.
