Does anyone know of a fish called rock bass? For a few years I've been doing some fishing at Bumpy Oak (near Bryan's Road) and keep pulling out these fish that look like a BlueGill except their mouths are that of a largemouth bass. They are pretty and resemble a sunfish of sorts but I've heard about 20 different variations of what they are called. So far I've heard 3 people call them rock bass so maybe that's what they are. Does Maryland have a state record for rockbass? I fished up lots of big and heavy one's yesterday that were getting ready to span. Anyone else fish there and pull up these kind of fish  I'll try to post a picture of one of the ones I caught tomorrow.

Rocks have a large mouth type mouth.. when you grab their lower lip it's just about the same size as a large mouth. DEFINETLY not a blue gill type mouth.
