Everyone that remembers Rocky, the husky/Collie at TriCounty that we all tried to save? http://forums.somd.com/dogs/114432-catt.html

Anyway, we made a trip to Wyoming, PA yesterday and he is HOME!!! It's an awesome home, I wish I could find another 60 like it! He is sharing his home with an Italian Greyhound and a Maltese - both rescues themselves (also a cat...).

He's been with me ever since that first thread, he is actually one of the sweetest and gentelest (sp) dogs around.

He sure did!

I love Nyla. What a great girl!

Nyla is a big sweetheart who loves giving 'hugs'. Beautiful girl.
You should see KC...she's another awesome girl...think she's a lap dog, very good girl, sweet...I don't know why she hasn't been adopted yet. She's another big love bug...

Rainbow Bridge

Rocky was in his wonderful home for just over 2 years, probably the best 2 years he ever had!
Kathy,
We had to say goodbye to our beloved Rocky this afternoon and are insane with grief. His kidneys had started shutting down a few weeks ago and we loved him to pieces, keeping him comfortable as long as possible, but he had turned a corner this last week. He was very weak, losing all of his muscle mass, developing edema, and had started having problems breathing. It was clear that he was not enjoying life anymore and was headed toward pain. We would not let him suffer and made a terribly painful decision to give him a peaceful end. We stayed with him and the last thing he saw was our faces telling him how loved he was.

We wanted to thank you for bringing him into our lives - he was a treasure and we adored him. We miss him so much already and it will be hard. We wanted you to know.

how sad! I started tearing up as I was reading it. KK and Second hope thank you for pulling him when you did (and also thanks Catt) and thank the wonderful people that gave a senior dog a chance and giving him the opportunity to know what it feels like to be loved and have a warm comfortable home to live in, it may have been a short time, but I am sure it was the best time he has ever had!

I think Rocky was the beginning of my Senior rescues.... It was an awesome home, I'm sure he couldn't have been loved more anywhere else!
