Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[b] boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we[c] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—
13 To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.
15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I think I would have to be a Bible scholar to understand this..... let's go to the commentary..... This is from the easy English site.
Adam chose to do what he wanted to do. Christ’s gift came because he loves us. He did what God wanted. Many people died because of Adam’s sin. Many people received the gift of life because of Jesus.
The result of Adam’s sin makes everyone guilty. The result of Christ’s righteous act is that everyone can become righteous. God offers righteousness to everyone who will invite him into their lives.
Many people became sinners because Adam did not obey God. Many people became friends with God because Christ obeyed him.
When the people received God’s law, they knew about God’s standards. But few people even tried to live their lives by God’s standards. People knew what God wanted them to do. But most people preferred to continue their sinful lives.
God sent Jesus to die on the cross (John 3:16). God did this because of his great grace, in other words, his kindness. And that act was sufficient to make people righteous. It was more than enough to bring salvation to everyone who trusts him.
I know... I admit.... I should go to another commentary..... but they are all so wordy! They aren't saying anything.... it's just a bunch of noise. Sinners like me don't understand words like "grace", "reconciliation", or "salvation". The concept is hidden.
All the dying started with Adam and Eve. Eve went to the market [at the time it was just the lush garden.... not a nasty marketplace]..... and she ran into a viper selling a beautiful piece of fruit.... that came from a tree that God told her was not good to eat. She took it to Adam.... and instead of sticking to the script.... Adam ate the fruit.... that started the pandemic called sin.
Now God had the antidote..... but first God had to take care of the other tree in the garden.... the one that would give them the eternal life they were looking for when the viper sold them death instead. So God put up a barrier around the tree to keep those sinning ignorant humans from gaining eternal life.... then He started working on the antidote to the death that Adam was now spreading thru his family.
One of Adam's sons got a particularly bad case of the sin virus..... and murdered another one of Adam's sons..... this sin pandemic was horrible..... it split up the family.... one son now dead..... he wouldn't get up and do the daily chores.... he wouldn't move... he wouldn't talk.... he was now dead.... done....
On top of that.... when the first son died... the one who killed him had to leave.... God marked him so everyone would know who he was and what he did.... so they could stay away from him.... but he went out spreading sin everywhere.... everywhere ignorant sin infested humans socialized and worked and schooled and died.... died.... died.... they all died......
God said "whoa..... I liked those humans I created.... I am going to send an antidote to end this sin pandemic..... Human zero is long gone.... but we can save the rest......" And God's Son, Jesus, volunteered to bring the antidote.....
Now.... In order for the antidote to work..... it had to be tested.... so Jesus put on a human body.... and tested the antidote against "temptation".... it worked.... and then Jesus had to distribute this antidote..... and the only way He could do that was to walk away from death.
If Jesus had simply become a human, taken the antidote.... and lived forever sin free..... it wouldn't have taught anyone anything.... those ignorant humans would have just say "he's just too healthy"..... no it had to be a big deal... to get attention.... there was no facebook or google back then.... apples were dangerous fruits on a tree, not hardware designed to bring society right to the living room. So.... God sent prophets who told people that Jesus and the antidote were on the way.... and gave specific clues as to His identity.... like arriving in Jerusalem on a donkey......and God arranged for Jesus to be hung on a cross so that everyone would see the Him. Then God arranged for a borrowed tomb [after all He wouldn't need it for long]..... and God arranged for Jesus to just walk right out of that tomb.... sin free.... with eternal life restored...... And once He had proven the antidote worked.... He ate fish with some of those humans to prove the lack of side affects of this antidote.
Adam was the first guy to get sick with the Sin Pandemic..... the 10 Commandments were only a means of dealing this the sin pandemic..... and Jesus brought the antidote......
Now it's up to all of us.... do we want the antidote or are we against all vaccines?????
