When you have to take a medication to regulate side effects of another med, then take something else to regulate that, then another one to make the first one more effective, etc, etc.....your medication isn't working to help your original problem. You're making Big Pharma rich, which means they can grease the palms of lawmakers, but *you* are getting poorer and sicker.
The story starts with Johnson's battle with acid reflux. Now they give you pills for it, but back in the day your Granny used to take a few sips of apple cider vinegar and that would fix her right up. True story.
Then he goes into statin drugs, and here is my personal experience:
I got a physical like 10-12 years ago and the doctor insisted that I was going to DIE ANY MINUTE! because of my high cholesterol. She was adamant that I needed drugs IMMEDIATELY!!! I ignored her and didn't fill the prescription, did a plant based diet for a few days before I forgot about it and went back to my wicked ways. A few months later I went in for a follow up and my cholesterol had magically lowered to an acceptable level.
