EXCEPT...

A Muslim group rented out the park for the day, and apparently Christian groups rent it out all the time.

WND is the MSNBC of the right - you can't believe their "reporting" and always have to dig deeper to find the real story. I hate that. But it's good information to have so next time some inflammatory headline from them shows up in my FB feed I'll know to ignore it.

SPOILER ALERT: ALL news channels in any form use fear and anger to keep viewership/clicks because analytics have proven that this tactic causes return viewing for product consumption/selling.

I'm right there with you and didn't fall for the rage bait. I figure that other organizations also rent it for their events as well. :bigwhoop:

I always check news - right or left - to see if it’s bull by or even exaggerated or sensationalist. Because it often IS. I’m quite familiar with right wing news sites that greatly overstate news stories.

However -

I go to them because there’s zero chance the MSM will ever cover it at all OR cover it in any way that doesn’t favor their version.

And if I only go to MSM I will NEVER get the whole story.

I have a really keen nose for bullcht, so I usually find myself corroborating everything. Maher once gave a bit of good advice on this - if the link uses strong words like “obliterate” or “annihilate” or other descriptions of an event, prepare for crap.

Exactly, which is why it's important for us to be able to recognize it. Democrats in particular are enormous gluttonous consumers of fake news and manipulation, but the Right does it as well and it's really annoying to watch people get all freaked out by obvious bullshit.

Which is not to say the unbelievable cannot be true - we've seen a lot of that in the last few years. "No way did that guy say that..." except there it is on social media in his own words. :shocking: That's why I love Twitter and BlueSky - these people just go on record with their crazy.

Since the place is public and can be rented by anyone it stands to reason that Muslims can also rent it, and that is fine as long as they fumigate it well before the next rental.
