Roundabout Alert

The new roundabout in Lusby on 760 is a real hoot. Everybody seems to think they have the right of way, especially the cars coming south from RT 4. The design is a bit tight for the amount of traffic so I'm sure we're going to see some fender benders. Be careful.

I grew up with rotaries in Mass. and there was never a problem. Mass. drivers are the worst in the nation.
In California there are no problems with 4 way stops...but you put these two traffic methods in Md. and you find nothing but chaos :killingme

I hate the one in Lusby. 4 way stops would have worked as well and have been a lot less costly. Now we have the roundabout where everyone yeilds to oncoming traffic and then the occasional person just stops and waits for a personal invite to procede into the circle.

Yeah, I don't know why people can't figure them out. :dork:

When they put the one in at Pax, there was definitely a learning curve, but I don't think there were any accidents.

ST, just wait for roundabout-in-SOMD-in-the-snow! I think we need a web cam set up. :lmao:

Piece o cake. If you are already in the roundabout you have the right of way. If you are not the person to the right of you has it. Maybe... I'm not sure... but it could be..... :banghead:

I don't know.

A roundabout was put in St. Leonard about 3 years ago. It was a problem intersection with a lot of accidents. It took drivers a couple of months to get used to it, but it is great. Before the circle you would wait forever to get throught the intersection. Now traffic runs smooth. Maryland dept. of transportation website has the rules for driving in roundabouts.

I was right for a change.
Within the roundabout, do not stop except to avoid a collision; you have the right–of–way over entering traffic

Where is this roundabout? So that I know what area to avoid like it's the goddam ground-zero.
