Route 5 bridge replacement Hilton Run

Just north of Willows where the road makes the turn to go up the hill. Going to be portable traffic lights on either end as it's one lane only, alternating for a while. Most advanced ones I've seen. Even have cameras to see how many cars are waiting.

So what's crazy is there are not just two. Each of the three of four driveways in that stretch has one dedicated to them. And its own painted STOP line.

I noticed that! I think one of those houses is a rental, so maybe they're just being extra precautious, but then this morning half their equipment was in that house's driveway. Something must be going on with the bridge the average driver can't see bc I drove over it twice daily, and used to live at the top of that hill, and never noticed it was in need of replacing.

That area has become a flooding area in recent years, may just be an upgrade like the one just south of there a few years back.

Well, if you are doing it right, you replace the bridge before it has things wrong that we can notice ... Like roof shingles, if you wait til failure, you went too long.

And they often rent land for these things from folks. When Chancellor's was made into four lanes, they not only paid me for the amount of my front yard that became sidewalk. They paid me for the use of a section above that so they could park trucks there.

since when are they proactive around here  I guess I just personally never encountered flooding or issues there and I drive it twice daily, so it really made me wonder the details on its replacement, mostly outta curiosity.

Wouldn't be flooding, just age and condition. Ah, here it is, my googlefu is good today. And the map up top of that page is active, meaning you can zome out and pan around to see the same level of information on every bridge in the county. .
