Router recommendations

Please, I need recommendations for a new router. This thing I have just isn't cutting it anymore.

Ohhhhhh, you're not talking about this kind of Router. When you said you're router wasn't cutting it, my mind went to woodworking.

Now I get it I'm not very tech savvy, but I sure wouldn't have put a question to help my carpentry skills under Computers, Technology and Internet.

I have an apple airport express wireless router that works pretty well. It uses software on the computer for settings rather than going through the router via web page though. When I got mine, It was rated near the top for signal strength and ease of use, but that was awhile ago. You can get a basic net gear router for half the price, but the signal strength won't be a good.

However, you need to have ac support on the other end – in your computers and mobile devices – for it to be of any use. And you can sometimes get better n-grade performance for less if you stick to the old standard. Of course, for future-proofing you need to upgrade to ac.
