Running in Calvert County?

Does anyone know of a safe place to run long distance in Calvert County? I'm looking for somehwere where I can run at least 6 miles and have enough room on the side of the road that I don't have to worry about getting run over by people who are not paying attention. I know I can just run at any of the high-schools but I hate running in circles.

Probably not useful at all to you but anyone in Northern St. Mary's--there is a very nice trail behind the Charlotte Hall Library. It runs from there to Deborah Drive in Hughesville. I usually walk from the library to approximately where the Food Lion is and that is about 3 miles round trip.
