God! How horrible. Sorry but I'd save my son before saving strangers but that's just me. It's the reason why I am a Police clerk instead of an Officer. No one's life is more important than my own and the lives of my family. But I understand why the man did what he did, just couldn't do it myself.

...I think people who indulge in these type scenarios are mentally ill.
The train operator obviously would see the bridge is up and slam on the breaks. There is NO WAY you flip a lever knowing it WILL crush your child given that the other choice is a train wreck that may or may not kill some people, though some will surely be injured. And then to add this messianic business at the end; it was for God to give his only son, not man.
Of course, those who made this video would then set about creating the PERFECT scenario where it is an absolute choice between your kid or a bunch of strangers.
I'm with Captain Kirk; I don't accept the premise of a no win scenario.
