I was on my way out to run some errands and came to the light at Mattawoman & Nike Dr. There was a small white fur ball dog just walking around in the intersection. He finaly made it across the street without getting hit, it's frustrating watching that and you got a red light. He went up behind Happy Faces Day Care and I parked my truck, grabbed some scooby snacks and my beagles leash. He was just putts along and finaly laid down under a tree. I approached him slowly and gave him the treats. He was in bad shape, hair all matted, muddy, weeds/twigs in his fur, tired, and eyes were all gooey. I managed to get the leash around his neck and a saw that he did have a bunch of tags on his collar. I tried to look at them but he got snippy. He happly walked back to my truck as I led him and put him in my truck. Gave him some water and the rest of the treats. I was than able to see his street name before he got snippy again and headed that way. I said to myself if the neighboorhood is ratty, I[m taking him straight to the vet instead. I got to the street and saw that it was nice and I asked some lady if she reconized the dog. She didn't but she helped me get the house number off his tag, It was her nieghbor 2 doors down.
It turns out that "Max" is very old and BLIND and wandered off without owners knowing it, he was a few miles away from home where I got him. The eye goo was his medicine. They were very happy to have him back and thanked me very much. I was just glad to see he was safe...

Yea, I have a habit of saving animals...gets expensive sometimes though.

One time it was a kitten dragging itself arcoss the street. I though it was hit, turns out he was born with bum front leg I took him to the vet & $1000 later his leg was aputated. He now has a happy three legged life with my nieghbors daughter in VA. And there were the turtles, a gosling, a snake, a bird, another dog, to many to count.

I'm not a tree hugger or activist, I just can't stand to see an animal suffer.
