Scam or not?

2 weeks ago, I posted an ad for some glass display cases I want to sell . A person responded and asked what my bottom price was. I responded and asked if he had come to the location I had posted and seen them?
This was the response I received:

i am willing to pay your asking price and i will also handle the shipping of good my self so i will be sending you a Cashier Cheque, Bank Draft or Money Order via postal service or and when you get it and it's credited into your account,My shipper will come for the pick up the goods .Am so sorry i cant come look at it cause am a very busy man and my location is bit far but am sure its in good condition as you have claimed,send me your details for the cheque such as .

Giveaways are the spelling of "cheque", He cant come look at it, he wants to know what country you are in... and the poor grammar (although that could be half the posters here).

I felt compelled to start this thread because of another thread regarding the classifieds. I am smart enough to know this was a scam and not be taken for a ride.


Problem is, I still have the display cases. Anyone interested in buying them?

It's good you knew it was a scam. I'd almost bet that when the cheque arrived that it would be for more than the agreed upon price. The buyer would have directed you to go ahead and cash it and return the difference. About two weeks later you would find out that the check was fake and you would be out the money for the shipping and you would have given the person the difference.

Not to mention the horror of finding your display cases lying in the ditch about two blocks from your home.
