Scary freezer food...

Every now and then you just gotta get in there and either use stuff or throw it the hell away.

A good rule of thumb is if you can't remember what it is by either visual or sense of smell, when you put it in there, or it just looks unidentifiable, then it's gone.

Of course, I wouldn't need that rule of thumb if I used it sooner, had it marked with what it is and a date, or just made smaller batches in the first place.

We now have a lot more room in the freezer. And I was wondering why I didn't seem to have enough storage containers, now I know why.

Now onto carrying on with dinner. Chicken cacciatore. :coffee:

Yeah, I was checking mine the other day and found a store bag wrapped around something lumpy. That is usually something I planned to throw out next time I went to the dump. Nope, squirrel. Have no idea why he wrapped himself and jumped in there or how he did it. I think he had his buddys put him on ice waiting for a cure for some squirrel disease or something.

Thanks for ruining the science experiment.

When I notice my freezer getting overly full, I put myself on grocery restriction until I eat what I have. Yesterday I unearthed some homemade tomato sauce that I believe BG gave me and it was like finding buried treasure. :yay:

The big question is was it skinned or did it still have its fur. I am finding skinned ones in every freezer, it is like they are taking over. Never bothered me until I found a chipmunk with the fur still on. Apparently it got hit on the road in front of the guys and they thought it would be a good idea to have it stuffed.

It must be something in the water - I just cleaned out my freezer, too. No squirrels, thankfully - but some pretty scary looking fish sticks....erm...I HOPE that's what they were.

Skin on.

Had something in there that was all frost covered and didn't know what it was. :yikes:

Thaw it out. Be carefull though. I remember a movie where some scientists up at the North Pole or maybe the South found something and brought it back to camp and "it" thawed out and killed them.
