The Greenburg files: Is there a file on you?

A group of mothers in the Scottsdale Unified School District community are questioning an online dossier that has digital connections to school board President Jann-Michael Greenburg and his father, Mark.

The Greenburgs deny any involvement or knowledge of the Google Drive in question, however the active link to the site was made private around 11 a.m. Nov. 9, after Independent Newsmedia called the family.

The digital dossier is housed on Google Drive and contains content, including photos of district parents and at least one minor, personal financial documents, including professional certifications, and mortgage statements.

The Google Drive shows these people linked to the account:

  • Mark Greenburg is owner of the Google Drive
  • Jann-Michael Greenburg
  • A person email address belonging to SUSD governing board member Zachary Lindsay
  • A Scottsdale woman whom the Independent has not yet verified.

Scottsdale parents who discovered secret dossier compiled to silence their speech announce lawsuit

The school board president kept a dossier on 47 parents who dared speak out against his policies, a dossier with Social Security numbers, kids' pictures background checks, mortgage documents, and more

Three parents in the Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) sued the district, former SUSD governing board President Jann-Michael Greenburg, his father and his father's wife over the maintenance of a "dossier" allegedly aimed at intimidating them into silence after they had criticized Greenburg.

The parents – Amanda Wray, Kimberly Stafford, and Edmond Richard – allege in the Marciopa County Superior Court complaint that the Greenburgs and the district conspired "to silence and punish dissenting voices and frighten away other potential speakers who might dare express an opposing point of view."

Greenburg and his father reportedly kept a dossier on 47 parents who dared to speak out against his policies at school board meetings — a dossier complete with Social Security numbers, background checks, a divorce paper, mortgage documents, trade certifications, and screenshots of Facebook posts. The lawsuit claims that the defendants "misused District resources and what should have been private, protected parent communications to the District to retaliate against Plaintiffs for their protected speech."
