It's not easy being green
Just got off the phone with St. Mary's County Public Schools:

Normal dismissal for all schools, afterschool and evening activities are cancelled.

I am surprised Schools aren't closing.
I must admit I'm getting a kick out of this reversal... seems to me just a couple days ago everyone was yapping about St. Mary's closing or delaying schools for just and inch or two and here we are today wondering why they aren't dismissing early when there isn't even an inch accumulation on the roads and not over an inch is expected.:jet:

We have at least an inch on the roads now in the Northern end.

But not two inches... right... that is my point. The majority of people here seem to 'p'itch and moan when St. Mary's wants to delay or close schools for a couple inches.

Seems to me they are smart for keeping the kids in school til normal departure time because it will give salt trucks a chance to hit the roads.

:yeahthat: And it will give panic ridden idiots who still drive 70+mph a chance to have their accidents cleared up before the buses roll.

:tantrum You made me go measure it. Inch and a half.

For the record, I think they should at least delay schools for an inch of snow, depending on when it occurs and how quickly the snow truck response time is. Given that we aren't in some northern state and snow, as a rule is not that frequent, lots of people don't know how to drive in it. Keep my kids away from those idiots. I'd rather have them safe at home.
