School System's New Plasma Television

Can someone please tell me why the school system's Department of Supporting Services in Loveville would have the need to mount on their lobby wall, a new plasma screen television that broadcasts channel 96(I believe) 24 hours a day? Who goes to that building anyway? What a waste of taxpayers money, that info could have been put on a bulletin board for next to nothing and sent to employees via e-mail on computers that they already have. I guess they will be begging for more technology money soon with their budget request. I hope this was not Dr. Martiranos idea of technology.

Go take a gander at their furnishings (even their BRASS doorknobs) if you want to find out where your $ is really being spent...........It makes me sick.

The building is the maintenance building behind Banneker Elementary School. The screen is 20 inches or bigger. It is in the center of the building, mounted to the wall. The employees leave at 4:00 or earlier.

Moakley street was furnished with surplus end of the year funds. Surprising since that year they could not fund text books.

My hubby is a teacher. Those pensions scare the life out of me. 5% is not enough, but better than nothing.
