School System's New Plasma Television

Can someone please tell me why the school system's Department of Supporting Services in Loveville would have the need to mount on their lobby wall, a new plasma screen television that broadcasts channel 96(I believe) 24 hours a day? Who goes to that building anyway? What a waste of taxpayers money, that info could have been put on a bulletin board for next to nothing and sent to employees via e-mail on computers that they already have. I guess they will be begging for more technology money soon with their budget request. I hope this was not Dr. Martiranos idea of technology.

Where exactly is this building?

How big is the screen?

Which door is it closest to?

How is it mounted to the wall?

What time do the last employees leave the building?

What cable channel is that, asks the DirecTV subscriber? I picture the teachers gathering in the lobby after work to watch extreme sports and drink Jagermeister.

HA! And you thought all that extra $ they beg for every year is being spent on teacher's salaries and books. Have you ever been to their palace on Moakley Street? Go take a gander at their furnishings (even their BRASS doorknobs) if you want to find out where your $ is really being spent...........It makes me sick.

The building is the maintenance building behind Banneker Elementary School. The screen is 20 inches or bigger. It is in the center of the building, mounted to the wall. The employees leave at 4:00 or earlier.

Thanks! :yay:

One more question: are any lights left on in the building at night?

Moakley street was furnished with surplus end of the year funds. Surprising since that year they could not fund text books.

I would rather see money wasted in our school system than anywhere else.
I wouldn't, not when it's not going to where the actual need is. Why buy school books when the department heads are in need of beautiful desks?

They just got a big raise in their pensions. 5%

My hubby is a teacher. Those pensions scare the life out of me. 5% is not enough, but better than nothing.

Which Hitler are we talking about? The Hitler that runs the school system or the one that runs supporting services. They both have champagne tastes you know just like the last superintendent.
