Charles County Public Schools is changing start and end times for two schools and establishing hours for Billingsley Elementary School, which opens in September. Changes in times are to accommodate the opening of a new school, rezoning and renovations.
Times for Eva Turner Elementary School and Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Elementary School are being adjusted for the 2019-20 school year. Changes take effect in August 2019.

The following are the time changes for the next school year:
- Eva Turner’s times change to 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., which is 15 minutes later than this year. The change is needed due to the relocation of staff and students to the Transition School during Turner’s renovation and expansion.
- Dr. Mudd’s new times will be 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., 15 minutes earlier than this year. Dr. Mudd students and staff return to their home school from the Transition School this summer following a two-year renovation and expansion of the facility.
- CCPS has set the operating hours for the new Billingsley Elementary School. School hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
