Oreos are as addictive as cocaine, at least for lab rats, and just like us, they like the creamy center best.

Eating the sugary treats activates more neurons in the brain’s “pleasure center” than drugs such as cocaine, the team at Connecticut College found.

“Our research supports the theory that high-fat/ high-sugar foods stimulate the brain in the same way that drugs do,” neuroscience assistant professor Joseph Schroeder says. “That may be one reason people have trouble staying away from them and it may be contributing to the obesity epidemic.”

I always liked Hydrox more - they were crunchier and held together better than Oreos when dipped in milk - but no longer around for about the last 10 years since Kelloggs stopped manufacturing them, just because they could not gain on Oreos. Kelloggs are cowards.

And, if we banned Oreo's, how long would it take before they were $100 a box and people were killing each other and buying off cops and judges and politicians over them?

As it is, they are cheap, and most sensible people choose to avoid them. The rest are addled, drugged up Oreo zombies roaming the earth seeking insulin and creamy centers BUT, they are not killing anyone or corrupting our society over them.
