Sears Service....Help Me Please!

Has anyone battled with Sears Service and won? If so, please tell me how you did it?!!

I bought a 42" LCD from Prince Frederick Sears. Within a month of theservice contract expiring, a row of pixels disappeared from the screen. Sears promptly sent a technician and they determine the tv would be replaced with a new one. I'm thinking, Great Service!

They gave me an additional year contract on the new tv. Within 1 month of THAT warranty expiring, the on/off button stopped working. So, I called Sears againa nd they scheduled an appointment at my home. They never showed up and when I called, they told me the appointment was cancelled becuase the technician was overbooked. No phone call from them, they just didn't show up.

So, I rescheduled the appt. but gave them my work address and phone # so I didn't have to take another day off. I told them I would take the tv to work with me. They never showed up. When I called agian, they told me the service address was set for my home, not my office. So, when theycalle dthe day of the appt. to confirm that I was home (Which I wasn't) they cancelled. SO....I asked for another appt, again at my office.

Next appointment....AGAIN, they showed up at my home and I had to reschedule.

Next appointment, I received a call at 3:00 and they confirmed the address at my office. They told me they were running behind and would be there by 6 pm. I waited until 7:15 and then calledSears.. I was told they cancelled becuase the technician was over booked. AAARRRGGHH! No phone call to tell me they were cancelling, they just didn't show up!

Long and short...I have scheduled 6 appointments to have this tv fixed, and each time, they they show up at the wrong place or don't come at all.

Has anyone had a problem with Sears? Do you know how to get results from sears?

Sears is famous for that, will set an appt, you take off, then they call 1 hr before the appt and say the tech is overbooked..We've fought that battle before and got absolutely no help from Sears or anyone, you just have to grin and deal with it.

This is Ott's wife. Yeah, we did..and the tech was great. It's the service scheduling department that has the issues. This is a very common problem. I know quite a few people that have this problem.

I won't buy anything from Sears again because of this.

Too funny! I actually saw that video. I can come up with a pretty interesting one myself!
It involves a customer service rep with a heavy accent named "George", my foot and a big cliff. It is about "George" admitting his name is actually Amar and that he REALLY IS NOT sorry that my television is not working!

In the end, I have a new TV and Sears hires English speaking people to schedule appointments so that they actaully input the correct information!

You know what's really a shame? I did receive great service the first time, and on my oven which I purchased from sears. I vowed to always purchase larger appliances from sear because hte service was so great. I knwo I shouldn't let one service incidence change my point of view, but to have this happen 6 times is ridiculous!
Its a shame that a company thta has been around for so many years has fallen to this level.

we get most of our appliances that we need through best buy even our 52" lcd tv came from them and they have been really good about showing up and taking care of things. We bought a refridge with a tv in it and one day it stopped working they came out and check the problem and sent us a new fridge the next day. The only pain we had was we had to get rid of food that was just bought a few days before the fridge went kaput on us and it was a brandnew fridge too we only had it 2 months. If you want good service go to best buy.

I just had a similar incident with Sears. I bought a set of the new front loading washer and dryer. Everything seemed fine when they delivered them on a Monday, but the tech said he couldn't hook the dryer up because the space was tight and I needed a flex hose. He said just call the 800 number and schedule a service call and someone will come out and fix it. So I called on Tuesday and spoke to three people. One lady said, we don't do that. I said well come and get this washer and dryer, because I didn't buy it not to be able to use it. Finally, a guy said he would schedule it for me for Wednesday. So I take off again that morning thinking they would be there. Well, no one ever showed. So I call and the first person says you are not scheduled. I said what? I give her the guys name that said he scheduled that appt. and told her to look at the notes. She says oh, I see what you are talking about, but it wasn't scheduled. She then says I schedule you for Friday. I said NO YOU WON"T! Let me speak to a supervisor. One supervisor proceeds to tell me that the computers went down and all their appointments for that day were gone. I said, great then you can send your tech out now since they aren't busy. She said we sent them all home. I said :bs: lady who do you think would believe that nonsense. Anyway, long story short after speaking to two of three non-english speaking people and two english speaking people, I said screw this come get these things, I will buy from somewhere else and get better service.

Later that evening a lady calls and asked why I want to return the washer and dryer so I told her in a nutshell your service sucks and I can get these things for the same price at two of three other places. She says well if I schedule you for a Saturday tech visit will that be okay, I said are you kidding? Did you hear a word I said about poor customer service. Send me a couple gifts cards and I will think about it. I got my sat. appt, and a few hundred dollar gift cards, but I will never buy a big ticket item from Sears again!
