Ah, Beechgrove:) I looked into this one about 2 years ago, I think. If you can find the local equivalent to this forum, the locals have seen that vid, and it cracks them up. Hell, they give tours:)

2 years ago we didn't have the issues we had today with high fuel prices and it wont be long before America cracks and Uncle Sam will have the camps on line and half full. Maryland is converting the old Jessup prison into one as well.

This is an old story...supposedly back in the 60's there was a rumor that the feds had refurbished a lot of the old camps the nisei were held in during the big one and throwing antiwar and other like facsimiles into them .
In fact, Frank Zappa made a film called "Uncle Meat" where all these long haired hippie types were in a desert prison and the warden looked a lot like Col Sanders complete with bucket of chicken. Frank Zappa played the counterculture/anticulture hero who breaks them out.

Psst, I said last time I looked into it was two years ago. Please note that the second tour I posted was 2007, less than 1 year ago. So, they have been secretly converting this Amtrak facility since 2001, and kept it secret from tour groups, and the workers and local residents all this time? Yep, buying that, I am. :killingme

Now, about Jessup, what facts do you have to saupport your statement about it being converted to a camp or facility of some kind, State just decided to close it in March of this year, where do you get your information about it becoming some sort of camp?
