Good thing I've spent my last two trips going the back raods over the Conowingo and taking the Penn TP for those last 20 miles to Langhorne.

Gonna be a crappy long weekend drive for a lot of folks.

Heres the spot on Google maps

Why not stay on 95 to the blue route to the turnpike.

Just sneakin' around....
A mighty strange place for a tanker to just catch fire.
Not the first time. Same thing happened on Rt 495 on Long Island many years ago. Perfectly straight road, truck catches fire, and 'just happens' to stop underneath an overpass. That section of the road was closed for a long time while the bridge was rebuilt.

There was one on 495 capitol beltway ten or fifteen years ago here. Diesel fire.

Didn't bring down the overpass but damaged it severely. If I remember right it was a dumptruck

When I lived outside Philly, there was an accident involving a semi nearly every week, if not more frequently. I even wrote a letter to the Enquirer about it. And that wasn't even in the winter time; then, it was worse.

That's my worst fear too...that a boat will stop under the island bridge, catch fire, and drop the bridge in the creek.

I'm still figuring out how much gasoline it should take.
