I heard about this on EITM this morning.

I bet Elliot had a blast with that one! I was already at work when it occurred and don't have the radio on when I'm here. :ohwell:

Actually, he didn't. Someone called in about it and he told someone to check into it for confirmation. I didn't hear him mention it again. Although, I could have missed it.

Yeah, I'm sure he cackled like a hyena.

His show should be titled:

Elliot in the Morning
"Can I have a shirt?"

Without free t-shirts, nobody would ever call.

Sorry, :offtopic:

Fortunately for Jackson, Thigpen's lack of mental stability is beaten by his lack of aim.

Thigpen's defense attorney argued that Thigpen should not be held because he is an Iraq war veteran and continues to serve in the Army reserves.
So the fact that he is an unstable threat to society should not be considered? The Army should reconsider his status too; he shouldn't be anywhere near a firearm.

Yes, I know I feel safer knowing those big bla...(um African-American) men towering over me at the guard shack are armed, unstable and lousy shots!

I didn't realize he was Army. He actually did pretty good for the Army. 15 rounds without any friendly casualties earns a marksmanship medal, doesn't it?

"In 1994, Thigpen served 20 days in jail on a criminal weapons conviction in New York, according to court documents..."

OK, is it safe to assume that the security company didn't do a thorough background check? Or is it protocol to give people with weapons convictions jobs in security with a gun?
