Just wondering if anyone has used this company? We got an estimate from them last night and the salesman seemed to be an honest guy. Can't really find reviews or anything except for two reviews for the VA office. Also, how much have people paid per window in the past? We are looking at getting the argon/low-e windows, pvc frame with the foam insulation. Any info or recommendation are appreciated.

I have no opinion, but you may after you read the attached article.

itsbob, I did see that review but I looked into it, and they definately have a maryland state home improvement license that doesn't expire until october 2013 and their insurance is a 2 million dollar policy that is good through november of 2012. The salesman I had was not pushy at all and references have been given with no issues. Of course I don't take too much stock in references that are given by the selling company for obvious reasons. But so far everything that article has said, I have not found to be the case. Also, the better business bureau has them rated at A+ with only 7 complaints in the past three years. I'm not defending them at all (although it may seem that way) I also, wouldn't want one review to turn me off to a good company. I just want to see if anybody has any experience with them.

They call me ... Sarcasmo
I recommend Marvin windows. The closest showroom is Annapolis but the quality and service are well worth it.

Well, you've been forewarned.

I just have to ask if they sell you EXPENSIVE low-E and Argon windows, how can you tell (other than looking at the stickers on the windows) if you got what you paid for?

Seems like it would be TOO easy for any company to rip you off for expensive windows and give you the cheapest product they sell.

Luckily I'm a nice guy, but I could see somebody that isn't spending the .50 per window for a sticker to put on a plain window.

Lastly, with the kind of money you are going to be spending on windows, I personally would go with a brick and mortar store that's been around awhile. Someone local who's doing business and has built up a good reputation.. Kind of like a neighbor, or fellow countian..

I used Southern Maryland Windows and Siding and they were great. $330 per window installed, capped and insulated. They advertise here and are reliable, local and honest

7 in 3 years?!?!?! There are businesses that have been around for decades that have 0 complaints. 7 complaints in 3 years is horrible IMO.

I thought about this as the earth moved, under my feet andi asked myself. "self, is this a new way of spamming?" It sure seems possible. Talk about a company, tell people where to find the bad review than say. "Oh yeah, I saw that one too and researched it and....." I mean if I can be devious enough to put a 50 cent sticker on a $99 window and sell it for $400 this doesn't sound too far fetched.

I guve them points for original thinking, but I don't think it worked as well as they had hoped.

:yay: Bob Green Siding and Windows. They did our replacement windows and siding. Then, when we added a new porch, we had them come out and do those windows too! We have nothing but good things to say about them!

Lol, itsbob I assure you I am not a spammer or salesman, just trying to get the best for my money, and to let you know, I am most likely not going with See-thru windows. My main reason is just the expense. After talking to a few people it seems that the expense just isn't worth it and that others have gotten a job done with similar quality windows (I'm not debating how good these guy's windows are, or aren't, the sales pitch was very good) for less. I appreciate the other suggestions and have put a call into southern maryland windows and siding, and am awaiting a return phone call for an estimate. And I will probably try Bob Green also. Although, I have to ask, itsbob, that wouldn't happen to be you would it?
