Seed propagation

I have a money tree plant that was given to me about 2 months ago, I took it home and I guess killed it :ohwell: It did fine for a while and then was starting to die so I kept feeding it and feeding and feeding and now I think overfed it. What litte bit of life that was left in it died. However, the leaf part has seeds, the leaf part turned white... do I need to propagate the seeds or can I plant it as is? Will this work?

I ask because I researched propagating rose seeds as you can't buy rose seeds. I did the bleach thing to them and the peroxide and the scrubbing and the seeds are in the fridge for the next 3-5 months. Apparently they don't reproduce on their own because of the casing they are in, you need to get through it with bleach and peroxide and scrub them gently. I also read that basically the only way you get wild roses is if the deer eat them because when it goes through the deer's digestive track it propogates them naturally.

Any advice on the money tree seeds?

oops there goes another rubber-tree plant ..............

:lmao: That seemed to be my theme song for the past 30 something years :lmao: but this year, I put my mind to it (all the gardening) and tried really hard... and so far seem to be doing well. I was told from the start that money tree's don't transplant well... but I did manage to not kill it for a few months

dems4me, If your plant's technical name is "Pachira Aquatica", there is a lot of information available on that. From what I have read, the seeds are fairly easy to propagate, just not sure of the condition of the ones you have. Normally they are propagated from clippings, but the clippings have to be alive first! Hope that helps.

:huggy: All of the money plants I've seen around here are starting to die now. It's normal. You didn't kill it. If the leaves turned papery white, you can keep the seeds and plant them for next year....or I guess you can plant them now.
