Senate Candidate Larry Hogan Advocates for ‘Restoring Roe v. Wade as the Law of the Land’

The Blaze notes that Hogan does not support former President Donald Trump.

“Hogan, who served as Maryland’s governor from early 2015 through early 2023, has never voted for Donald Trump but wrote in his father Larry Hogan Sr. in 2016 and the late President Ronald Reagan in 2020. He has said that he will not vote for Trump or Biden this year,” the report states.

Hogan has been openly courting Democrat voters instead of those from his own party.

“I am excited to launch Democrats for Hogan and have my good friend and former Democratic State Senator Bobby Zirkin on our team,” Hogan wrote in a post on X. “To my Democratic and Independent friends, you know me and you know my proven track record of reaching across the aisle to find common ground for the common good. You know that I have the courage to put people over politics and to put country over party. I will continue to be the same strong independent leader for Maryland that I always have been.”

I am not sure how you make "Roe v Wade the law of the land" - aside from the fact that it is a decision that permitted abortion by finding a right to an abortion in the Constitution, so it is not a law - the only way I know to make it so, is with an explicit right via an amendment.

And that, to me, is abhorrent - unlikely - and totally what I've come to expect from a DEMOCRAT. That if you disagree with something, you should compel compliance with the force of law. Democrats, despite the NAME and their recent discovery of the power of the word, despise deomcracy as they are repulsed at the idea that PEOPLE SHOULD *CHOOSE* if they want abortion or not.

(They've also concocted out of whole cloth this absurd idea that Trump, if elected, will track every pregnant woman in America and will post law enforcement on the borders of states that allow abortion, to turn back or arrest someone crossing over to have one).

I do believe - if things are allowed to take their course - *reasonable* compromises will eventually arise. It's happening - the most extreme restrictions are being overturned. A middle ground - is being found.

We are SO OFTEN informed by the left how progressive our friends in Europe are. Well THEIR take on abortion across the continent is far more restrictive than the Dems WANT - having conditions that mirror what is being hammered out HERE but that do not allow abortion on demand at any time during the pregnancy. I think it is reasonable to allow it prior to 18-20 weeks. That's practically universal - and permits the OVERWHELMING majority of abortions that happen already. Fighting for the right to an abortion UP TO THE MOMENT OF BIRTH is barbaric - and quite rare, statistically.

We must relinquish the idea that compromise is capitulation - that to stay true to a position, we are required to defend the MOST extreme cases. That is absurd, and impractical.

I knew when I voted for this C***sucker that it was the wrong thing to do, but I did it anyway thinking it would help the party.
The sumbitch should just run as a Democrat, he should change parties.

I still think, in retrospect, it was better than voting in yet ANOTHER Democrat. When we went from Ehrlich to O'Malley, the first damned thing he did was raise the sales tax - and it got worse from there.

In order to control the Senate, and thus control the agenda, there must be a majority of R's (for the Republican). It doesn't matter one whit if he always votes with the Democrats.

Now I suppose it could be argued that "what if he switches parties?". That COULD happen - but it would end his career, because the Democratic Party doesn't allow repeat offenders like this - you switch to Democrat, they push you out the next election. And if he switches, does that change things much, for Maryland? He's got the nomination. If you would RATHER have Alsobrooks, knock yourself out. These are our choices.
