The authors look at the possibility that mRNA "instruction sets" might eventually encode into a person's DNA and be passed down (with as yet unknown consequences, perhaps) to future generations. This idea - that the COVID vaccine mRNA instruction set may encode back into DNA - has been soundly rebuffed by those who have a vested interest in the current national vaccination push. However....
This idea isn't new at all (as you'll see from the attached article should you decide to wade through it). In fact, it has been an ongoing concern regarding mRNA vaccines since "forever" (perhaps why it took COVID to finally push one cynically out the door?). That this might occur is one reason I'm not on board with getting a COVID vaccine until the Novavax* one is ready. Another is that the current COVID vaccines are "leaky" vaccines (meaning, an unintended consequence of these vaccines is that they may, in fact, help the virus to evolve into a more lethal version).**
Let's do my second objection first. There doesn't seem to be any great disagreement that the current COVID vaccines are leaky; the disagreement seems to center on what exactly might happen as a result of them being "leaky." That the science isn't as settled as all those talking heads on TV seem to say it is (meaning, what we're hearing is more sCiEncE than science) my continuing reaction to the vaccine "mandate" is that it boggles my mind the government (at every level) seems so hell-bent on pushing the COVID vaccine. Thereby making me wonder what the hell is actually going on.... Also makes me remember the old soldier/sailor/marine saw: "Never volunteer; only suckers volunteer."***
Anyway, back to my first objection and the attached article. My only experience in reading through dense journal articles like this one (40+ pages) is with psych-oriented ones so I can't speak to the science. However, from what research I was able to wade through previously my position had become and remains that the science on mRNA vaccines isn't at all settled as to what the long-term consequences are of introducing these "instruction sets" into the body. This journal article seems to confirm what I had long believed/known. But I'm not a doctor. The info seems legit, but the article is from a very new journal and that may be a strike against it. But then again, maybe it's a good thing. So any doctors out there with comments to add? With an interest in weighing in?
