When I was at GMHS, it was easy to get beat up for being white. The black kids always had a certain area they hung out in, and any white boy/girl who walked by and they wanted to take their racial harassment on was fair game.

The teachers and administrators did nothing about it, as if it was some affirmative action program to give them revenge on whitey for slavery.

I wonder if its changed?

When my daughter attended Leonardtown Middle, she was sexually assualted (boy kept putting his hands up her shirt and bra and down her pants) on several occassions. This was reported to the school each time. Nothing was ever done about it. After the last incident, I took my daughter to the State Police Barracks and reported it. The boy was arrested later that day. THEN the prinicpal wanted to discuss the issue. Nope, no longer a school issue, now a criminal issue. I am just sorry I didn't do it the first time. The boy was sent to boys village, ordered to counciling, and placed on probation. I placed my daughter in counceling for this, and he was ordered to pay the co-pays for her counceling visits.

This problem does exist!

Here is what I don't get. Granted, I don't live down there and don't know exactly what it's like, however, I went to Gwynn Park so I know very well, how it feels to be a minority in a school. Since I hear everyone talking about how 'ghetto' GMHS is and whatnot, I decided to go to my trusty website CLICK (click on GMHS and it brings up the statistics) to look at the statistics for GMHS. I just about feel off my chair laughing. You people think 958 white kids to 595 black kids is 'ghetto'? Gimme a break You mean to tell me that the black kids are SO horrible that 958 white kids cant beat the chit out of them and put them in their place? I don't get it. Statistics for Gwynn Park If I could survive without biatching and complaining about the black people, when they were CLEARLY the majority at GP, it makes me wonder. I'm baffled. Then again, I havent lived in a predominately white area since I was about 12 so I'm not so spoiled that it kills me to see black people move in. Granted, once they become the majority and I become the minority, THEN I have an issue. Whites being the minority at GMHS is not the case though, so someone please explain it to me.

In their place would be whatever place they have to be in to stop beating the crap out of the white kids. It was simply a statement that the white kids should stop letting them do it. Fighting is completely unnecessary but like with anything else, as long as they can get away with it, they are gonna keep doing it. Same for white kids if THEY were the ones doing the bullying/fighting. It won't stop until one side shows them that they've had enough. Again though, thats just my opinion as the resident racist.

At one point she smacked him to defend herself, however, you not knowing the total situation, he out weighed her by a good hundred pounds. My daughter weighed all of about 85 pounds at the time, this kid was well over 5' 8 or 9 and extremly big for his age. My daughter is only 5'2" and weighs 105 now, and she's nearly 21.

Considering the fact that that's his mentality, the advantage of size loses out to speed, suprise, tactics, and knowledge. At that age, I was about that size and had dropped people just about his size. Had that been my daughter, he would've had surgery on at least one joint.

And yes, ladies and gentlemen, hitting a man in the genitals isn't always as effective as seen in movies. Been there, done that, got held down and beaten... twice. Both times I was being thrown to the ground, and they still finished the manuver and continued as planned.

No way in hell would I expect my daughter to just take it, I would expect her to fight tooth and nail, and have somebody have to physically pull her off him still swinging kicking biting and anything else she could possibly think of doing to hurt him.

Granted she's going to be bruised and bloody due to the size diference but I'm sure he's going to know he got a beating from a girl. THEN the school will have to react... and the bully will lose all credibility after being taken to task by a little girl.

The *first* time that boy put his hands on your daughter, you should have called the cops. Not the school - go right to the folks that are going to solve your problem. What you're describing *is* assault and no kid shouldhave to tolerate that.
