I do. I use what I have in the shower on mine. If its a new puppy I use Johnsons Baby shampoo so it doesnt hurt their eyes and it doesnt dry out their coats.

Can you use "people" shampoo on puppies?

I used my own shampoo on my adult dog once, and never again. It cost me an expensive vet bill after she was allergic and her hair came out in handfuls. She had to go on steroids and they said NEVER use people shampoo on any animal...way too strong for their skin.

The Ph is much different on human and pet shampoos and it is not a good idea to use human shampoos on pets; as Sugarbear found out.
Puppy shampoos are milder than adult dog shampoos as well. And there are a lot of good hypo allergenic shampoos out for dogs with sensitive skin and allergy issues.

If you don't have any pet shampoo but very much need to clean your pet asap, dish soap is your best bet. Gets them clean and doesn't strip their fur of oils they need.

Dawn is often used on animals infested with fleas. But I wouldn't recommend it as a regular cleaner for animals!

No, certainly not regularly. Just sometimes they get something gross in their fur you don't want them licking off, and their shampoo makes a good habit of getting lost. I keep it in the shower I wash the boys in now

I usually use baby shampoo on my dogs. Doesn't burn their eyes and doesn't strip the oils out of their fur. Of course, my dogs are minpins so they don't get bathed very often. I now also own another dog (sheltie/border collie mix) so I will be bathing him more often.

Shampoos I like

I like to use Puppy Tears by Kelco, most likely you would need to order online.

I also like Filthy Animal by Kelco it is a all natural flea and tick prevention helper.

I also use diluted Dawn especially for greasy ears.

I now use Oatmeal shampoo on my dogs. They are lhasapoos. Ummm - have you ever washed your own hair with Johnson's baby shampoo? It burns your eyes like nothing else. All baby products are harsh believe it or not. Johnson's baby lotion gives me a rash from hell. I would never use it on my dogs.

i would say go buy these items,
they are one of the best shampoos i have ever been introduced to.
i have only ever seen great results from this product
plus the puppy tears is gentle enough to use weekly if need be.
