St. Mary's Co. Sheriff Joseph Lee Somerville Sr. Funeral Procession on Saturday

Motorists can expect delays on the morning of Saturday, April 10, 2021, for the funeral procession of former Sheriff Joseph Lee Somerville Sr. as it moves through St. Mary’s County.

Starting at approximately 8:30 am, the funeral procession will depart from the Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home in Mechanicsville, head south on Route 5 and Route 235 to Hollywood Road, loop through the St. Mary's County Governmental Center Campus, and then head north on Route 5 in Leonardtown to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Morganza.

Following Sheriff Somerville's Mass at St. Joseph's, the procession will head south on Route 5 to Charles Memorial Gardens in Leonardtown.

Motorists should expect traffic impacts in those areas Saturday morning and early afternoon.
