During the week of August 5 – 11 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,775 calls for service throughout the community.

Burglary: 19-45199


On August 5, 2019 Deputy Sturdivant responded to Two Horses Lane in Huntingtown for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised sometime between July 28th at 5:00 AM and August 5th at noon an unknown suspect(s) attempted to break into his barn. The estimated value of damaged property is $100.

Theft: 19-45146

On August 5, 2019 Deputy Wilder responded to Chesapeake’s Bounty in St. Leonard for the report of a theft. The complainant advised on August 2nd around 4:45 AM an unknown suspect came onto the property and stole soft shell crabs, string beans and frozen chicken. The total value of stolen property is $361.

On August 5, 2019 Deputy Holt responded to Roland’s in Chesapeake Beach for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between August 3rd at 9:00 AM and August 5th at 9:00 AM an unknown suspect stole the registration off of her vehicle.

Theft: 19-45266

On August 5, 2019 Deputy R. Evans responded to the Sheriff’s Office for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between August 4th at 5:00 PM and August 5th at 6:00 AM an unknown suspect(s) rummaged through her vehicle and stole her wedding ring, a Michael Kors wallet and $4 in change. The estimated value of stolen property is $3,104.

Theft: 19-45326

On August 5, 2019 Deputy B. Wilson responded to Brick Wood Fire Bistro in Prince Frederick for the report of a theft. The complainant advised for two weeks he has noticed inventory of food missing, including a ribeye steak and three pounds of crab meat. The total value of stolen food is $195.

Theft: 19-45450

On August 6, 2019 Deputy Deleon responded to Asbury Circle in Solomons for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between August 3rd at 1:00 PM and August 6th at 1:00 PM an unknown suspect stole two Garmin GPS devices and a cell phone charger from her vehicle.

Theft: 19-45550

On August 6, 2019 Deputy Gilmore responded to Cassidy Court in Chesapeake Beach for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between August 5th at 8:00 PM and August 6th at 4:30 AM an unknown suspect stole his Mongoose bicycle from his back deck. He also advised his air conditioning unit was damaged as if the suspect climbed on it to get up onto the deck. The estimated cost to repair the air conditioning unit is $300.

Theft: 19-46001

On August 7, 2019 Deputy Aurich responded to Wild Goose Way in Dunkirk for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM an unknown suspect stole his front registration plate from his vehicle.

ARRESTS:

Frederick Emmett Donahue (58)


On August 9, 2019 Deputy Holt responded to the North Beach firehouse for the report of an individual trespassing on the property. The complainant advised Frederick Emmett Donahue (58) was sitting on a bench outside the firehouse and was asked to leave. Prior to this incident, Donahue was issued a trespass warning for this firehouse for a period of two years. Donahue was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Trespassing on Private Property.

Kenneth Ray Huffin (39)


On August 11, 2019 Deputy Holt responded to Rod N Reel in Chesapeake Beach for the report of a disorderly male in the area. Prior to his arrival, Deputy Crum and Deputy J. Ward made contact with the disorderly male and the female complainant. Deputy Ward gave Deputy Holt two prescription bottles, one which was missing a label and had suspected Oxycodone Hydrochloride in it, and one which had the female’s name on it. Both bottles were found in the male subject’s front pocket, who was identified as Kenneth Ray Huffin (39). Huffin was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana.
