Sheriff Tim Cameron, Warden Mary Ann Thompson, and the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office welcomed eight new Correctional Officers on Friday, May 6, 2022. The new officers graduated in a class of 15 from the Southern Maryland Criminal Justice Academy, Session 67 Corrections Entrance Level Training Program.
The new Correctional Officers are:
Helen Deitrich, John Edelen Jr., Ryan Kane, Breanna Kissinger, Dylan McCoy, Mikele Spencer, Hanna Suite, and William Tolson Jr.
Officer John Edelen Jr., won the Physical Fitness Award, Officer Hanna Suite won the award for Scholastic Achievement, and Officer Helen Deitrich won the coveted Steve Allen Award.
