Shooting in Waldorf/Lancaster

My SIL just called and asked if I was working today (I am) and to see if anyone was at my house (we live in Dorchester, not Lancaster...but it's close). Apparently there's a guy walking around the neighborhood with an AK47 shooting people. WTF?! The school in the neighborhood is locked down, of course, and nobody can get in or out of the neighborhood.

Anyone else hear anything about this??

Well damn....I guess it's 'better' to be an 'isolated' event rather than some guy just 'roaming the hood'. Still, people are going crazy. I just heard it's on Gladwell Court.

That neighborhood is quickly becoming D(odge) C(ity) South. Read the sheriff's crime reports and most of it is there or in the hoods near Lowe's and Home Depot. So sad.

I think Bannister has them both beat, that is the real sh*t hole of waldorf.

WUSA 9 put the story in fb, someone commented said that Waldorf isn't that bad and One situation doesn't make it getto....:coffee:

I hear there's a lot of homeless people living in the wooded areas near Lowe's and Home Depot....random, I know. Anyway, I don't know about those areas but will say I've heard bad stuff about Lancaster over the past few years or so. Agreed, very sad.

Eh, some areas in Bannister aren't 'so' bad though. It's really one side of that neighborhood that basically sucks.

Umm I'm not "one of the drug dealers" and I don't think Waldorf is that bad. There's pockets of crap areas EVERYWHERE, not just in Waldorf. You think it's so hood? Ever been to a real hood area?? Come on now, Waldorf is NOT the "ghetto" :yay:

As a matter of I have! When I worked in dc I would have to go through southeast all the damn time! Hell I have family there! And that's ghetto too. The park is ghetto as well. Nothing but trash! It use to be a nice place till DC and pg run off started coming down.

Waldorf is. It has gotten worse over the years. I have a coworker who was born and raised in Waldorf... Tells me all the time how much it has changed for the worst and is glad he got the hell out of dodge.
