Detectives with our Homicide Unit are now leading the investigation into a shooting that occurred Sunday in Landover Hills. The victim is 24-year-old Marquis Mason of Landover Hills. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.
On April 12th, at approximately 6:05 pm, patrol officers were called to the 3900 block of Warner Avenue for a report of a shooting. Officers discovered Mason outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment. He died of his injuries on April 13th.
Detectives are actively working to identify a suspect(s) and a motive.
