PGPD Shooting Victims Dies of Injuries

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is now leading the investigation into a shooting that occurred on October 30, 2020, in District Heights. The victim, 15-year-old Lavarus Blacknell of Washington D.C., died of his injuries on November 4, 2020.



On October 30th, at approximately 9:50 am, officers responded to the 2800 block of Plaza Drive for a shooting. Officers located the victim in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a hospital where he died several days later.



Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and determine a motive.
