Shutter color

My shutters that I painted sort of cranberry with Krylon 4 years ago have started peeling.

If you have light gray siding and bright red brick, would it look better to have dark gray shutters?

I also contemplated colonial blue (gray blue). I don't think that I can pull of the blue, since the brick is so red.

Funny you should bring this topic up! I am in the process of painting the shutters and trim on my house. The existing colors were "Poo Brown" shutters and guttering and "Turd Tan" for trim....UCK!
I went w/blue and gray-goes great w/brick exterior!
Good luck :yay: -a very tedious job!

My shutters were originally black, and I thought it was way too dark. I wish I could cover up the brick, but I have heard horror stories about painting the brick.

Now my shutters are starting to show black polka dots!!! I figure I'm one good rain away before I'm going to need to rip them down.

Good luck.

Nice house.

You have way more brick than I do. I have a split foyer and only the lower level is brick. I don't think I can pull of the the blue.
