Shutterfly blanket

I’m considering having a custom blanket made by Shutterfly. To be specific, it’s a sherpa blanket with a few pictures on the “front”. It’s pretty expensive, in my opinion, and I’m not exactly loaded with money to waste on doing this twice.

I’m concerned about the image being a terrible quality after being enlarged, and then made into a “fuzzy” fabric.

Has anyone had a blanket made, and what was the outcome?

Thanks for your feedback!

I made one for my Mom and one for my grandmother. Go to Staples and get inkjet iron on transfer paper; scan and print out photographs on the paper; iron them onto old white t-shirts cut into 12" squares; use those as quilt squares and trim/embellish/etc as your skills allow.

This one isn't mine, it's just an example of what they look like:

It was time consuming but worth it. The biggest cost was the printer ink.
